About the creator
Mezwyn D'Junus is a published author and a single mother diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010. She traveled everywhere to spread the word about her book titled ‘Even The Most Positive Person In The World Gets Cancer’ that she wrote during her chemotherapy. She believes there is not enough acknowledgment of the emotional aspects of the disease, which can contribute significantly to the health and wellbeing of an individual. One should not underestimate their emotional stress. Shortly after, Mezwyn also became a certified yoga instructor and decided to go back to her roots - preserving Mother Nature. Sustainable travel has always been her goal & passion. Thus, she runs the Twin Beach Resort at Pulau Sibu and created the Twin Beach Sanctuary team to "help people get by positively" through a range of experiences, without exploiting the beauty & resources at hand.

We can no longer beat around the bush - we only have one planet and we all need to do our part. Hence, the Twin Beach Sanctuary team was established on Pulau Sibu... We have become more than an awesome island resort... we're a family who genuinely loves nature as we sleep elevated among the trees & in front of the sea, we work together to conserve dugongs who are sadly endangered, we take care of mangrove forests, constantly monitor & clean up our reefs, and help build up those in the local village for a better education & future! And here's the catch... we want you to join us! Whether it's through learning how to freedive, taking part in our conservation projects, exploring and learning about the beauty of our island, even just choosing to stay with us to enjoy the beach, food & people means you are choosing & supporting local!
